Sender Settings
Sender settings control the visible sender identity and reply handling for email campaigns. This information is the first thing recipients see and is a key driver of successful open rates.
Where to Configure
Sender settings are configured in the Sender tab of the email template editor during campaign creation or editing.
Required Fields
The following sender fields must be set before an email campaign can be finished:
| Field | Description | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| From Email | The email address that appears as the sender. Must be selected from verified sender emails | Yes |
| Reply-to Email | The email address that receives replies. Must be selected from verified sender emails | Yes |
| Subject | The email subject line. Supports dynamic variables | No (warning if missing) |
From Email
- Select from the dropdown of verified sender email addresses configured by your Org Admin in Domains and Senders.
- If no verified senders exist, the dropdown is empty and you cannot finish the campaign until a sender is verified.
- The From Email is displayed to recipients as the sender of the email.
Reply-to Email
- Also selected from the verified sender email list.
- When a recipient hits "Reply" in their email client, their reply is directed to this address.
- Best practice: use a monitored mailbox so replies are not lost.
Subject
- Free-text field for your email subject line.
- Supports variable insertion: you can include dynamic variables (e.g. a recipient's name) in the subject line.
- Variables appear as pink tags in the subject field and resolve to actual values when the email is sent.
- If no subject is set, a warning is shown when finishing the campaign, but you can still proceed.
How Values Are Populated
From Email and Reply-to Email values are populated from the list of verified senders managed in Outreach → Settings → Email. Only senders with a "Verified" status appear in the dropdown.
If no verified senders are available:
- The sender dropdowns are empty.
- A message indicates that no verified senders are configured.
- The campaign cannot be finished until at least one sender is verified.
To add or verify senders, see Domains and Senders.
Best Practices
- Use a recognisable From address: recipients are more likely to open emails from addresses they recognise.
- Monitor the Reply-to mailbox: recipients may reply to campaign emails, especially for service-related communications.
- Include variables in the Subject where appropriate. Personalised subject lines can improve open rates.
- Always preview your subject line with test data to confirm variables resolve correctly.
